PhD in Ecotoxicology UMRI-02 SEBIO

I work on the study of the relevance of bivalves as bioindicators of the presence of cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins in aquatic ecosystems. To achieve this, I :
• Performed laboratory studies on the toxicokinetics of microcystins and β-N-methylamino-L-alanine (BMAA) in the zebra mussel Dreissena polymorpha and the duck mussel Anodonta anatina
• Performed filed studies with active caging of both species
• Participated in trials to improve the technique of total microcystin extraction in collaboration with Ifremer (Nantes)
• Had a 2-month stay in Wageningen (Netherlands) at the Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management Group to extract bivalve samples exposed to BMAA

• In vivo exposure of zebra mussels to T. gondii oocysts
• Realization of PMA-PCR and RT-PCR

Study of the impact of different contaminants on the immune system of the zebra mussel (flow cytometer study).
• Ex vivo exposure of mussels haemocytes to a drug substance (diclofenac), a component of the heavy metal family (cadmium) and a herbicide compound (glyphosate)
• Measurement of viability, ability and efficiency of phagocytosis as well as oxidative outburst of dreissenes hemocytes by flow cytometry
